Glass Workshops
I run 3 hour glass workshops from my own studio in Bramcote Hills, Nottingham.
My workshops can be booked privately for a group of your friends and family. With a minimum of 3 people up a maximum of 6.
Please note that you will be working with raw glass that has sharp edges, so these workshops are more suitable for adults.

All glass, tools, teaching and firing will be included in the price, as well as refreshments. These classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as people wanting to improve their glass making skills.
I will have examples and pictures for each workshop as inspiration, but if you have an idea of what you'd like to create please feel free to bring your own designs with you, and I will help you create these.
Your finished fired pieces will be ready to collect a week or two later.
Different workshops utilise different glass mediums and techniques. For example you could be working with hand rolled sheet glass, learning how to score and snap it, titanium based dichroic glass, crushed glass, powdered glass, liquid glass, fireproof paper or copper sheet. Whichever workshop you choose, you'll be taught a variety of different techniques to create different artistic effects for the medium you're working with.

A pair of free standing candle holders

Design and create your own unique pair of free standing candle holders. Your glass art will have a candle holder and candle behind each one (included in the price) so that it will glow and show off your glass beautifully.
They will be 9cm x12cm each.

A pair of sun catchers

Design and create your own two pieces of unique art. A pair of sun catchers that can be hung either on your wall or in your window. Each sun catcher will measure 7cm x15cm, with a hook fused within it to hang it from.

A set of four coasters

To challenge yourself you can design and create four unique coasters. Four similar works of art takes more patience, experience and time to create. This workshop is therefore more suitable for a 2nd or 3rd workshop to develop your skills.
The coasters will all measure 9cm x 9cm, large enough for glasses, mugs and cups.

Glass bowl

Design and create your own unique glass bowl. You can choose from a variety of shapes, including shallow round, deep round, square and oval.
Two seperate firings will be needed to finish off your bowls.

Dichroic jewellery workshop

Using dichroic glass (an incredible glass that has titanium in it, that changes colour dependant upon the angle you look it)
you will get to design and make up to 4 different pieces of jewellery. The art you have created will then be fired and all professionally finished off, by myself, with the relevant findings, to make them into your unique wearable pieces.

Candle bridges (16cm x 24cm) are a beautiful statement piece for your table that will hold 2 candles (included in the price).
Two separate firings will be needed to finish off your candle bridge.

Christmas decorations

You will be able to make up to 8 pieces, time dependant.
We start out learning the required techniques needed by all making the same two pieces each, together. First we will create a Snowflake and then the group can choose to create either a Robin or a Christmas Tree.
After learning these techniques you will be able to work more independently to create you own designs to make a variety of beautiful decorations.
